Today, on 06/07/24, I and another volunteer performed maintenance on the Island. We decided the Orchard needed some love. Overgrown with encroaching weeds and nettles. Armed with a mower and strimmer we went to battle.
After 4 hours of battling Blackberries and nettles the orchard looked a million times better. There’s still a lot to do, the grass only got a high pass, there’s a few holes that could do with being filled in and the trees need some love. but I believe that it’s very suitable for a picnic now.
