Island maintenance from the Ranger.

28/07/24

We didn’t do a volunteer session yesterday as I was supposed to be going away. Unfortunately, things happened and I didn’t get away.

Good news is I did spend some time on the island. Iv trimmed some tree branches on the backside path so it’s easier to get down there now. Although there’s still some encroached dog rose and other weeds making the walk unpleasant.

I’ll get to them at some point, altho if we had more volunteers it could be done sooner.

Today I have also finished off the road down to the courts. There’s just regular upkeep for leaf litter and the curbs to keep clear.

I also spent some time on the cobble entrance, strimmed the nettles back and started digging up the built-up soil under them. As per usual I forgot to take some proper before pictures.

There’s still a lot of work to be done and we could do with help. if you are interested in helping please fill in THIS form.
